How can i use a playstation 2 controller on pc and play half-life 2 and the other games using scource engine?

i do have a usb 3 controller port conecter. it has playstation 2, xbox (origonal), and game cube. well it works on counter strike scource, but i cant get it to look up and down. theres a seting to loom up and down in the keyboard setings on the bottem, but it dosent work. going into mouse and enabling joystick dosent work. thanks in advance

  1. Even though you can hook your PS2 controller to your pc doesn't mean that it will be compatible for all games and their respective settings. They do make PS2-style PC controllers, so I'd check those out incase you don't get the other set-up to work.
  2. Try using Xpadder. Its an input emulator that will let you bind your gamepads buttons and axes to keystrokes and mouse movement. I wouldn't try using it in multiplayer though. Mouse and Keys are vastly superior to using something like a gamepad, which is why, for example, that MS won't allow any mouse/key peripherals on the 360 - people using that online in Halo would have a huge advantage over those who don't.
